MACA Music Festival to Unite Talents and Share Music

    (Macao, Sep. 20, 2015) – Macau Association of Composers, Authors and Publishers (MACA) hosts and Macau Foundation presents the show for citizens ‘MACA Music Festival 2015 --- Guitar: the Soul of Music’ at 8pm on September 20 at Sands Theatre. MACA Music Festival is held annually with the aim to encourage the development of local music industry while offering the platform for intercultural cooperation. Sponsored by the Macau Foundation and Sands® Macao, the concert adopts the theme of guitars, which is not only the soul of music, but also an integral musical instrument.

     The concert provides a platform for Macau and Hong Kong guitarists to join forces on stage. The show starts with Sun Entertainment band Zolarwind with the songs ‘乾坤卦’, ‘七百萬個小宇宙’ and ‘Thriller’. Next comes the Best Songs of MACA Song Writers’ Quest 2015 ‘All I Want from You’ sung by Viviana Lo and ‘Right at 30?’ performed by Bobo Loi. Then, singer-songwriter Terence Siufay sings ‘窮富翁’, ‘時光機’ and ‘高登歌’. Afterwards, Macanese João Gomes and Band performs ‘Poema’, ‘Barca’ and ‘Largada de touros’ with their signature Portuguese rock fusion. One of the height of the event is the special tribute to late Mr. Lawrence LEI, who was the former vocalist of the band Special Force and the forerunner of local rock music. The original members of Special Force, together with vocalists Vincent from the band L.A.V.Y. and Marvin from the Cactus Band, reinterpret LEI’s signature songs ‘Brother's theme’ and ‘Speed Driver’. Last but not least, Hong Kong Redline Music band Supper Moment performs ‘煩擾中起舞’ and ‘幸運之歌’ as the great finale.

     All guitarists play together on stage. Talented guitarists are united; great music is shared; the soul of music is born. The show ends on a high note, giving the audience a cultural night to remember.

     In addition, at the door of the theatre also sets a collection of 30 guitars, showcasing their revolution. The audience will have the rare opportunity to see and understand the stories behind ‘the soul of music’.
