• MACA Album Released Annually for Charitable Causes

(Macao, Dec 15 2016)–– The Macau Association of Composers, Authors & Publishers (MACA) releases MACA Album Volume 5 at 4pm on December 15 2016 at Village. With great response and support from the music industry and the society, the Association have published four MACA Albums in four years in a row since 2012. This year, MACA has once again made the efforts to publish for local music creators; eight high-quality entry songs from the MACA Song Writers Quest 2016 are recorded in MACA Album Volume 5 records, with the aim to share 100% locally produced music with the public and to support the sustainable development of the cultural and creative industry in Macau.

MACA Chief Executive Office, UNG Kuoc Iang, states in his speech that the awareness of the copyright protection has gradually been raised in the public. He points out it is encouraging that the number of musical works registered this year is 543, which is an obvious increase comparing to 100 musical works last year. MACA, sharing a similar goal with the Macao Government to promote local music, has been working together with Macau Cultural Affairs Bureau and the Macao Foundation on the production and publishing of the Album. Meanwhile, the CEO emphasizes the importance of respecting music and their music creators, and it is important to obtain the Creators’ approval by applying for a music license prior to any public performance.
