• Departments and organisation jointly organize Macau Copyright Campus Tour

          (Macao, Feb 21, 2017) - Macao Customs Service (SA), Intellectual Property Department of Macao Economic Services (DSE), and Macau Association of Composers, Authors & Publishers (MACA) co-organized “Macau Copyright Campus Tour”. The organizers will put display panels at various schools in Macau starting from today, using simple and interesting storyboard to introduce to students the importance of intellectual property rights and music copyright, and having Q&A sessions, so that students can learn copyright knowledge through interaction. The tour is supported by Education and Youth Affairs Bureau (DSEJ).

     

        Through the tour, the organizers hope to nurture the next generation, starting from the schools and through education, to impart the copyright knowledge gradually, so as to deepen Macau residents’ understanding of infringement, so that creators of trademarks, patents, design and musical works can be rewarded accordingly, to encourage them to be creative and continue to create, contribute to the society and enable the public to enjoy or benefit from the creation of others in a lawful manner so as to improve their quality of life and productivity, corresponding with the moderate economic diversification of development in Macau and the promotion of the sustainable development of the cultural and creative industries.

     

          The first stop of the tour is at Pooi To Middle School. The officiating guests at the opening ceremony included SA Deputy Director-general NG Kuok Heng, Acting Head of SA Intellectual Property Rights Department IAN Chan Un, DSE Deputy Director LAU Wai Meng, Head of DSE Intellectual Property Department CHEANG Hio Man, Pooi To Middle School Principal LEI Pou Tin, MACA CEO UNG Kuoc Iang and representatives.
