MACA Album 6 Released to Promote Local Music

      (Macao, Dec. 14 2017)– – The Macau Association of Composers, Authors & Publishers (MACA) releases MACA Album Volume 6 at 4pm on 14 December 2017 at Village Macau. With great response and support from the community, MACA have published five MACA Albums five years in a row from 2012 to 2016. This year, MACA has once again made the efforts to publish for local music creators; eight high-quality entry songs from the MACA Song Writers Quest 2017 are recorded in MACA Album Volume 6, with the aim to encourage local musicians to produce good music, share with the public and to support the sustainable development of the cultural and creative industries in Macau.

      MACA Chief Executive Officer, UNG Kuoc Iang, states in his speech that the awareness of the copyright protection has gradually been raised in the public, by collective effort of the community and the Association. The Macao Government has been active in recent years to promote the cultural and creative industries, MACA, being a part of that, also actively provide opportunities for music creators. He points out that it is encouraging that around 300 musical works are registered this year. The publishing of the Album 6 is sponsored and supported by the Macau Cultural Affairs Bureau and the Macao Foundation, and the release ceremony venue sponsor is Village Macau. Meanwhile, MACA wants to call the attention of music users to care and respect the effort of music creators, and by applying for a music public performance license prior to any public performance, “Respect copyright, enjoy music life”.

      Local artist and album cover designer Vivian CHAN is invited to share the design concept, she points out that the use of sky and rainbow as the theme indicates new hope and scene in local music. The producers of MACA Album Volume 6 attend the release ceremony, including “MACA Song Writers’ Quest 2017” champions Annan U, Tynick Choi and Funo Lei, second runner-up Catalyser and two of its members Iron IAN and Jason CHANG, as well as finalists Ondina CHAN, Arno CHAN, Kevin CHENG and Garland LIO.
