(Macau, 21 June 2019)–The “Studio Workshop” organized by The Macau Association of Composers, Authors & Publishers (MACA) was held on 20 – 21 June. MACA would like the students to assimilate into the workshop where musicians create and produce music, to understand the basic process and operations of music recording and experience the full production process of a song. The experience on recording process allows students to know the music culture beyond the classroom learning, as well as to acquire the music copyright knowledge. It also cultivates the students to develop their music careers, join the local music creation in order to improve the music creation standard and learn the music copyright knowledge.

In addition, students were participated also in an explanation session on music copyright. During the presentation, intellectual copyright knowledge was delivered to students, this was to let them know that a license should be applied in advance before playing or using music in public and respecting music copyright can effectively promote music creation. Students expressed that entering into the studio was a special experience and excited. The participating students said that this was the first time they entered to the studio to experience audition, recording and audio mixing etc. The professional recording equipment used in the studio also inspired the students to have deeper enthusiasm for music. They said that they have gained a lot through this “Studio Workshop” experience. If there is any agency or school would like to participate in the “Studio Workshop”, they can liaise with MACA through info@maca.org.mo directly.
