• MACA Album Vol. 8 Released, Promote Local Original Music

        (Macau, 16 Dec. 2019)“The Macau Association of Composers, Authors & Publishers (MACA) releases MACA Album Vol. 8 on 16 December 2019, 3:00 pm at the Exhibition Hall of UNESCO Centre of Macau. This compilation is another pioneering work of MACA's past seven Albums, which includes the 8 local original music works shortlisted in "MACA Song Writers Quest 2019". Committed to promoting local original music works, promoting the development of cultural and creative industries, strengthening public attention and respect for music creators, and also to ensure the sustainable development of original music, the musicians who participated in the Album production also attended the press conference, they are Iron Ian, the champion of MACA Song Writers Quest 2019, Choi Kuok Chu Guoch and Si Seng Wai, the 1st runner-up, Leong Chi Long, Lio Jun Lang and Chiang Sio Wa, the two 2nd runner-up, as well as the finalist of the Quest, Chan Hou I Ondina, Lei Ka Fu and Cheung Chou In etc. (names in no particular order)

     

      Music creation is far-reaching. In the new era of global music industry sublimation and with the continuous advancement of science and technology, music creation is even more indispensable and the importance of copyright has become the basic knowledge of the general public. At the press conference, Mr. Yan Ung, CEO of MACA, addressed that MACA is grateful for the support from the society to promote local music and intellectual property rights, so that Macau citizens ’awareness of music copyright is increasing, reflecting a new aspect of Macau ’s original music. With the support of the Cultural Affairs Bureau and Macao Foundation, this is the 8th compilation which records the elaborate production of a group of local creators and with the hope to continue sharing the local culture with the public. Meanwhile, MACA actively calls on music users to pay attention to and respect the hard work of song creators; apply for a music performance license before publicly playing or using music and jointly Respect Copyright; Enjoy Music Life.

     

      Guests attending the press conference include Cheang Hio Man, Head of Intellectual Property Rights Department of Macao Economic Bureau; Ho Hong Pan, Department Head of Promoting Cultural and Creative Industries of Cultural Affairs Bureau; Cheang Wa Kam, Customs Inspector of Macao Customs; Kan In Peng, Centre Director of Educational Resources of Education and Youth Affairs Bureau; Cheang Ian Na, Assistant Officer of Service Center, Stage, affiliated to Macao Federation of Trade Unions; Nerissa Lau, Director General of Macao Deaf Association; Cheong Hou In and Lam Ka Lok, Officer of Macao New Chinese Youth Association.

     

      This compilation changes the previous format of using CD as a carrier, to adopt the modern society and technology development, the MACA Album Vol. 8 was recorded in an USB drive. From the exterior packaging design to the inside, it is ingenious and deeply appreciated by music creators and guests.
