(Macau, 30 October 2020)he “Studio Workshop” organized by The Macau Association of Composers, Authors & Publishers (MACA) was held on 29 & 30 October respectively. This event has been held for four consecutive years, and teachers and students from 20 schools participated in the event this year. This event provides opportunities for students to personally experience and try recording, to understand the complete production process of a song, so that more teachers and students who are interested in music creation and production can experience the fun and, encourage students to develop music creation.

This year, there were 31 teachers and students to participate in the “Studio Workshop”. They were from 20 schools, including Keang Peng School, Escola Católica Estrela do Mar, Escola Cáritas de Macau, Escola Oficial Zheng Guanying, Colegio Mateus Ricci, Instituto Salesiano, Kao Yip Middle School, Escola Tong Nam, Kwong Tai Middle School, Lingnan Middle School, Colégio Diocesano de São José 6, Colégio de St. Rosa de Lima (S.C), Concordia School for Special Education, Chan Sui Ki Perpetual Help College, Escola Secundária Luso-Chinesa de Luís Gonzaga Gomes, Escola Luso-Chinesa Técnico-Profissional, Sacred Heart Canossian College (English Section), Escola Xin Hua (Secondary Section), Santa Rosa de Lima English Secondary School and Saint Paul School Macau (names in no particular order).

MACA would like, through this activity, teachers and students to assimilate into the workplace where musicians create and produce music, to understand the basic procedures and operations of music recording and students can experience the music culture beyond classroom learning, cultivate students' interest in music, improve the music creation standard of Macau, and develop their music careers.

As the only non-profit non-governmental collective management organization in Macau that is currently enforcing the rights granted by the Copyright Law, MACA hopes to promote the development of local music creation and the protection of music copyright through various activities, and strengthen public respect for music creators. Through this event, there were lectures on music copyright knowledge, on ways to respect music and safeguard copyright. This event not only allowed teachers and students to understand the hard-earned birth process of each musical work, laid a certain foundation for future music creation, but also enhanced teachers and students' awareness of music copyright. If schools or organizations wish to participate in the "Studio Workshop” they can also make an appointment or enquiry via email (info@maca.org.mo).
