MACA Music Compilation “MACA Album Vol. 9” Press Conference

(Macau, 16 Dec. 2021) " – The Macau Association of Composers, Authors & Publishers (MACA) held the launch of "MACA Album Vol. 9" on 16 December, 2021 (Thursday) at 3:00 pm at the A Porta da Arte (Rua dos Ervanários 42). Due to the epidemic, last year the event was suspended for one year. This year, MACA continues to receive support from the Cultural Affairs Bureau of the Macao SAR Government to produce and launch a music compilation of eight local original music works shortlisted from “MACA Song Writers Quest Online 2021” and record the memories and different stories of a group of creators in the form of music. The event seeks to promote local music works in Macau through compilations and digital music platforms, and at the same time strengthen the public's respect for music copyright. As always, MACA has been actively promoting Macau's local music works through various means and activities and calls on music users to pay attention to and respect the music creator’s original works. In this way, hopes everyone remembers to apply for a music license before playing or using music in public; "Respect Music, Protect Copyright ".

The compilation continues to be presented on USB drive and the design is expected to give the audience a feeling of enjoying the happiness brought by music. The musicians who participated in the production of the compilation also attended the press conference, they are the champion work “All Alone” of “MACA Song Writers Quest Online 2021”, Rebel Rabbit; 1st Runner-up song “The Queens' Playroom” Zachary Kong and Ondina Chan; the 2nd Runner-up song “Treasure Hunt”, Lio Chun Long and the finalists and singers Mervyn, Finly Ng, Mathew Lam, Bobby Lio and Jason Chang etc. (names in no particular order). There was also a sharing session at the press conference, where champion winner Rebel Rabbit shared their experience and inspiration for the creation of the work "All Alone"

Guests attending the press conference include Cheang Hio Man, Department Head of Intellectual Property of Economic and Technological Development Bureau, Macao SAR; Si Tou Lam Lai, Department Head of Tourism Product and Events of Macao Government Tourism Office; Kong Wai Yi, Division Head of Intellectual Property Rights Investigation of Macao Customs of the Macao SAR; Cheang Wa Kam, Customs Inspector of Macao Customs; Ho Hoi Ieng, Acting Centre Director of Educational Resources of Education and Youth Development Bureau; Ian Heng Wa, Officer of Activity Center Pak Wai of União Geral das Associações dos Moradores de Macau and Lau Sut Man, Director of Macau Deaf Association.
