MACA and local social science circle in total 24 participants went for 7-days seminar in Nanjing, as invited by the Macao Foundation. The Department of Culture, the Macao Foundation and Nanjing University jointly offered “2012 The Sixth Seminar of Macao Social Sciences Circle Seminar” from May 21 to 27. There were all together five seminars, in which speakers thoroughly analyze on knowledge of arts and culture. Speakers are well-known professors from Nanjing University. Conductor of Nanjing University Philharmonic Orchestra, Mr Lu Xiao-yi shared his views on “Music Appreciation and Music Life”. Prof. Hu Xing talked about “Chinese Second Generation Director’s Creation on Film and Historical Status”. Associate Dean from Literature School, Lu Xiao-ping talked about “Dramas of Nanjing University”, while Director of Research Centre of Cultural Industries from Business School, Gu Jiang talked about “21st China’s Strategy on Cultural Industries” and Vice Principle from Nanjing University of the Arts, Liu Wei-dong have a talk on “Another Side of the Fest: Interpretation on ‘Night Revels of Han Xizai’”. All the participants had a rewarding trip.
After the seminar, the delegation headed to Yangzhou and Anhui for a field trip to have a glimpse on traditional customs and history. The trip links up social sciences parties from Macau and Mainland in order to exchange ideas and perspectives on art and culture.
