• "MACA Music Scholarship" Awards Ceremony 2022 Honors Fifty-five Secondary School Students

    (Macau, 9 June 2022) –“MACA Music Scholarship Award Ceremony” was held by Macau Association of Composers, Authors & Publishers (MACA) on 9 June 2022 (Wednesday) at 5:00 pm. at the Fátima Auditorium. The award winners of “MACA Music Scholarship 2021/2022” were from 42 schools; they were Lingnan Secondary School, Saint John de Brito School, Escola Luso-Chinesa Técnico-Profissional, Sacred Heart Canossian College Macau, Escola Caritas de Macau, Instituto Salesiano de Macau, Escola Oficial Zheng Guanying, Colegio de Santa Rosa de Lima (English Secondary), Our Lady of Fatima Girls School, Escola dos Moradores de Macau, Colégio Diocesano de São José 5, Concordia School For Special Education, Colegio Mateus Ricci, Millennium Secondary School, Hou Kong Premier School Affiliated to Hou Kong Middle School, Escola Choi Nong Chi Tai, Macao Baptist College, Colégio Diocesano de São José 6, Macau Anglican College , Macau Pooi To Middle School, Pui Va Middle School, Keang Peng School, Escola Tong Nam, Affiliated School of the University of Macau, Kao Yip Middle School, Sacred Heart Canossian College Macau (English Section), Chan Sui Ki Perpetual Help College, Escola Católica Estrela do Mar, Escola Dom Luís Versiglia, Pui Ching Middle School, Escola Tong Sin Tong, Escola Secundária Luso-Chinesa de Luís Gonzaga Gomes, Yuet Wah College (English Section), Yuet Wah College, Escola Xin Hua, Escola Portuguesa de Macau, Academia de Musica Sao Pio X, Kwong Tai Middle School Macau, Colegio de Santa Rosa de Lima (SC), Hou Kong Middle School, Saint Paul School Macau and The International School of Macao.

     

    Ung Kuoc Iang, CEO of MACA, said in his speech that thank the schools for their support to MACA activities during the period. It is grateful that each school continues to promote music education to students and jointly cultivate outstanding talents for the development of music in Macau. MACA Music Scholarship was launched in the academic year of 2011/2012 and has been implemented for eleven years, it has also been four years since the " MACA New Original Music Award" was added. Macau students are gradually improving their knowledge and creative skills of music, in this year, there are more students winning this award by summiting their original music works than in previous years. There are 15 students who won the “MACA New Original Music Award” from Colégio Diocesano de São José 5, Hou Kong Premier School Affiliated to Hou Kong Middle School, Colegio Mateus Ricci, Escola Tong Nam, Sacred Heart Canossian College Macau (English Section), Escola Católica Estrela do Mar, Colegio de Santa Rosa de Lima (SC), Escola Secundária Luso-Chinesa de Luís Gonzaga Gomes, Escola Luso-Chinesa Técnico-Profissional, Macau Anglican College and Academia de Musica Sao Pio X. To enjoy the award-winning music, three students performed their original works on stage, they are from Colegio de Santa Rosa de Lima (SC), Sacred Heart Canossian College Macau (English Section) and Macau Anglican College. The students who won the award said they were very excited. Some award-winning students shared that music is an indispensable part of their life. Looking forward to developing music industry in the future that create more music and write the lyrics can record Macau culture and life.
