MACA Song Writers Quest 2022 Is Calling for Entries Now

The Macau Association of Composers, Authors & Publishers (MACA) is announcing the kick-off of the MACA Song Writers Quest 2022, and is now calling for entries until 4pm, October 12th. In its past nine years, the Song Writers Quest was MACA’s biggest annual musical event. While MACA keeps on devoting to Macau’s music industry, the competition aims to contribute to the local music industry by helping and discovering local music talent to join the industry, and providing music creators with a platform to demonstrate their talents. MACA has announced its panel of celebrity judges for this year’s competition, comprising Schumann (Composer, Arranger & Music Producer), Chan Fai Young (Composer, Arranger & Music Producer), Joe Lei (Composer, Lyricist and Music Tutor) (in no particular order). The judging panel will join forces to select eight songs from all the entries to enter the final round of competition, the eight finalists will be performed live on the final and will be rated and commented by a panel of judges. Their professional opinions and constructive advice will be able to help the entrants make further progress in their musical careers.

About the admission procedure and related terms: MACA Song Writers Quest 2022 is now calling for entries until 4 p.m. October 12th, by which time entrants must submit a completed entry form and all supporting materials (including score and lyrics without writers’ names, lyrics sheet only, entry song in MP3 format) by email to info@maca.org.mo and confirm the good receipt by phone (852)2888 2380; or include all of the above on the CD and submit to MACA office (Alameda Dr. Carlos D’Assumpcao No. 258, Praca Kin Heng Long C10, Macau).

Six awards will be presented: Winner, 1st Runner-Up and the 2nd Runner-Up for The Best Song, Best Music, Best Lyrics and My Favourite Song. Contestants can submit one or more musical works. MACA Song Writers Quest 2022 invites all people who are interested in music creation to participate actively.
