At 3pm May 14that 10 Fantasia,Macau Association of Composers, Authors & Publishers (MACA) holds a press conference to announce the opening of theMACA Song Writers Quest 2014. The 2ndSong Writers Quest of MACA is to be held at the Sands Theatre on July 26th 2014.
The press conference is hosted by MACA chairman Yan Ung and Hong Kong composer Harry Ng. As original music contestscan provide local music creators with a good platform to show off their talents, the Song Writers Quests organized by MACA aim to encourage local talented young musicians to produce, performandeven pursue a career in the music industry in Macao.
Mr. Ungis pleased to announce the list of celebrity judges joining the Quest, including Fred CHEN (Taiwan Lyricist & Author), Danny SUMMER ('Father' of Hong Kong Rock n' Roll),Schumann (Hong Kong Composer, Arranger & Music Producer), Gene LAU (Hong Kong Lyricist), Harry NG (Hong Kong Composer) and Vicky FUNG (Hong Kong Composer, Lyricist, and Performer).
MACA Song Writers Quest 2014 is nowopen for entries until 6pm on June 13th, by which the entrant must submit the completed Entry Form and all supporting materials (including CD, scores and lyrics) to the MACA office. Five awards, namely Winner, 1st Runner-Up and 2nd Runner-Up of " The Best Song ", the Best MusicAward and the Best Lyrics Award, will be presented at the end of the Quest.
Composer Mr. Ng is pleased to be one of the judges for the Quest. The judge panel will together select eight songs to be competed against each other; all eight songs will also be used to produce MACA ALBUM VOL.3 as a reward and an incentive for the entrants of the Quest.
Mr. Ng encourages all talented musicians to join in MACA Song Writers Quest 2014 as this might be the path to a career in the music industry. The winners of last year have been able to develop their careers in music-related businesses.In additional, the professional opinions and constructive advice given by the judge panel shall also help the entrants’ to make further progress in their musical works.
