MACA aims to encourage the development of local creative industries and to provide local music creators with the opportunity to shine and communicate. Dom Pedro V Theatre, built in 1860 as the first western-style theatre in China with a seating capacity of 300, has survived as a highly significant cultural landmark in the context of the local Macanese community. This unique cultural fusion of the East and the West and that of the past and the present shows that, there is indeed no boundary in music.
MACA Music Festival is devoted to the local music, performed live by music creators, singers or bands. The shows opens with Tracy Chang, winner of the best song of MACA Song Writers Quest of the same year. Then followed by local Macanese signer Josefina Santos; aRiejohn – a local band formed by Arie Chan and John Ho -- and LAVY -- the local rock n roll forerunner formed by Leo, Angelo, Vincent, and Yaz – brings to the stage their original music pieces. Hong Kong band Soler, as the final guest performer, has lifted the ambience of the show to another height with their affectionate performance.
MACA is here to unite talents and share music, offering the audience with a cultural night to remember.
